100 Day Project

100 Stickers in 100 Days

Although the idea was to create 100 stickers in 100 days, it didn’t work out quite like that. I did create the 100 stickers and I learned so much in the process. These stickers represent hours and hours of work on Illustrator and I am proud of them and the proficiency I gained in the process.

Some of these stickers have been produced and have been made available for sale. These stickers are noted. All of these designs are available for wholesale ordering, contact me with inquiries!

A friend shared with me that during a long period of hardship, her mantra became “Refuse to Sink.” She absolutely did not sink. I loved her mantra and the strength it gave her in such a difficult time.

This sticker is available to purchase here!

On a long car ride home from a visit with the grandparents, our four year old promptly fell asleep. About 20 minutes before arriving home, she suddenly announced, “TA-DA! I’m awake.”

“Finish each day and be done with it. You have done what you could. Some blunders and absurdities no doubt crept in; forget them as soon as you can. Tomorrow is a new day. You shall begin it serenely and with too high a spirit to be encumbered with your old nonsense.” - Ralph Waldo Emerson

While I have many favorite stickers that I have created for this project, this one is towards the top! On a day when I didn’t know what to create, I began thinking about what my non-negotiables are. Picking up the girls from school is one of my daily privileges and pleasures. As I thought about that, this “badge” appeared in my mind. One day I’ll put it on a sweater and wear it proudly.

*A “Dad” version was also created

Jake, my husband, has a hobby of making jerky in his smoker. Turns out, he is really good at it and his jerky is often requested by family, friends, and clients. When he first started, I created a simple little sticker for him that he could put on his bags. I decided that he needed a little update and created this sticker, modifying the drawing I already did of Luna, and placing her face on a drawing a of Jake’s shirt and putting his glasses on her face. Despite much amusement, he has rejected the idea of using this new and improved sticker.

Jake went in for a no-big-deal surgery, but it did require him to be put under anesthesia. After administering the anesthesia, they wheeled him away and I yelled, “I love you!!!.” He raised his left hand in the air and said, “Later skater!”

This past summer, I started walking with two ladies from my neighborhood. Many nights we would get talking only to realize that we had been talking and walking for 2+ hours and had gone 5 miles. During these walks, we talk about everything, ask for and offer advice, laugh over silly things, and give and receive comfort and encouragement.

One of my friends loves to buy, plant, and care for plants. When we were out one day, she started comparing how much things cost with how many plants that amount of money would buy. I was so amused I just had to create this sticker for her!

This is another phrase I often say at our house.

“Can I have candy for breakfast?” “No, but thanks for asking”

“Can I stay up late?” “No, but thanks for asking”

“Can I paint the dog’s nails?” “No, but thanks for asking…”

These verbs came from a talk given by Alan T. Phillips of the Seventy of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints called, God Knows and Loves You.

It is found in this excerpt:
”How we treat one another truly matters. President Russell M. Nelson teaches, “The Savior’s message is clear: His true disciples build, lift, encourage, persuade, and inspire.” This is even more important when our fellow travelers feel lost, alone, forgotten, or removed.”

The text in the background is from the Bible, found in Matthew 5:14-16, which reads:
14. Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid.

15 Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house.

16 Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.

As I refer to my struggle with anxiety, I hesitate to say it is one of my “problems,” although it is. During one such reference and subsequent hesitation while I was talking to a friend, she jumped in an supplied that anxiety is one of my “mountains.” I love the reframe and it inspired this sticker.
