Episode 090. " I Really Want..."

This episode is based on a conversation I overheard while I was at Starbucks. I heard a phrase that always really excites me, “I really want…”, followed by a keyword that always makes me pay attention.

  • I dive into the importance of noticing the things that you say you want and really paying attention to what comes up afterwards.

  • I work through how to decipher what are excuses, what are fears, and what are actually preferences. I tell you how to deal with each of those appropriately.

  • Here are three journal questions that you can use to help you in the pursuit of what you want:

    • I say that I want (fill in the blank), but I’m not doing anything about it. What do I actually what that I’m choosing instead?

    • I’m scared to death to (fill in the blank), but I really want to (do it / be it / create it). What am I scared of, specifically?

    • What is the absolute worst thing that can happen if I (do it / be it / create it)? What is the likelihood of the worst happening? If the worst happened, could I deal with it? How could I rebound? What is the cost if I don’t go for it? What’s the best thing that could happen? Is that possibility worth trying for?
